Hi, folks! Today, we’ve got a super exciting announcement to share with you, which is that we’re going to be performing at the Far Out Festival at the Rising Sun in Ickford.
Running from 1 PM to 9 PM on Saturday 2nd July, the festival will host around eighteen acts and include arts and crafts stalls with a mini Glastonbury/Woodstock vibe.
We’ve always enjoyed playing at the Rising Sun, and we’re super excited to be sharing the bill with a bunch of friends and talented musicians. The day is sure to be a blast (even if it rains), and so make sure you mark it on your calendar.
Hi, all! Just a quick post to let you know that we’ve got a brand spanking new logo, because our old one was really just a placeholder and we weren’t 100% happy with it. The new one is a much better reflection of who we are as a band, and you can check it out below.
Of course, there was another reason for wanting a new logo, which is that we thought it was about time that we got some merch sorted. Come and see us at a show sometime soon to see what we’ve got available!
Depression and Mediocrity (EP): £5
12 Step Programme (Album): £8
Guitar picks: £1
We’ll also throw in a free badge with every CD or tshirt purchase, and if there’s enough demand there then we might work on some other merch, too. Just let us know what you’d like to see!
We’ve got plenty more cool stuff coming soon including a new show or two to announce, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled on our Facebook and Instagram profiles for more. We’ll see you at a show sometime soon!
Hi, folks! Today, we’re pleased to announce that we’re set to make a return to the Rising Sun in Ickford on Saturday 29th January.
We’re super excited to be back, especially after December’s event was called off due to mounting concerns around COVID ahead of Christmas. The event will run from 7 PM to 11 PM and we’ll be on the lineup alongside a bunch of other awesome acts, so do come on down.
It’s due to kick off at about 8:30/9 PM, so be sure to head on over for a beer or three and a few tunes. There’s a rumour that we’ll be playing a certain sweary Christmas song, so it’s not one to be missed!
Hi, folks! Just a quick update to let you know that we’re returning to the Rising Sun in Ickford on October 23rd 2021!
We had a great time with Dean and Ali and crew during our last visit, and this time we’ll be taking Matt along to play cajon. We were outside last time, but it was one of the last nice days of the summer and so this time, we’ll be playing inside.
The music kicks off at 2 PM and we’re going to be on relatively early because Dane has to be back to work at the arts centre in the evening. There are also a bunch of other fantastic acts on the bill, so be sure to come along if you’re in the area!
Organised by Dean Butler, it features a cracking line-up of musicians, many of whom we know from the Open Micsolate Facebook group. Acts include Wendy Grace, Simon Gregory, Andrew Hogger and Kimberley Williams.
Unfortunately, our good friend Nick Atkinson had to pull out, and so we agreed to play a duo set in his slot at three PM ish. We hope to see lots of you there!
Hi, folks! Just a quick update today to let you know that we’ve got a gig coming up.
We’re pleased to announce that we’ve been invited back to The Phoenix Bar in High Wycombe to perform an acoustic set as part of their series of acoustic sessions.
We’ve played there a few times in the past, including a notable gig in December 2020 that was the last chance we got to play together for six months or so, and we were also there back in July for one of the last shows that our friend Sam Pritchard organised before sadly passing away.
And so we’re excited to be heading back on the evening of October 13th, and we hope that you’ll come and join us. We’ve got plenty of great tunes planned including a few fan favourites, a bunch of originals and some covers that we haven’t performed for a while, so be sure to stop by and say hello.
We’re super proud of this album, especially because we recorded the bulk of it during COVID lockdowns with Dave recording in the Ilk Shed and Dane recording in his living room. We think it came together nicely!
The album also features Rik Cunningham on guitar in Rock City, as well as additional vocals by Amanda de Grey and Clarissa James. The photo was taken by Andrei Spiridon at our spiritual home, Wycombe Arts Centre.
Yes, you read that right – we’ve finally caved and signed up to Instagram!
We shoot a lot of videos of our performances and so IGTV gives us another place to share those, and it’s also nice to share occasional behind-the-scenes updates from our live shows. Posting them from our personal accounts just doesn’t cut it.
So if you’re on Instagram and you’d like to give us a follow, be sure to check out @TheIlkstagram for more. We do our best to return the favour by following as many musicians and music-related accounts as we can!
In other news, we’ve also been carrying out some updates to our website and social media profiles, so feel free to have a look around and to see what you can see. We look forward to seeing you at a gig sometime soon!
